VETERANS & MILITARY FAMILIES · GRAND JUNCTION
Your experiences matter beyond your service.
Military experiences can shape identity, relationships, routines, and the way you respond to stress. Whether you are navigating a difficult experience or a new chapter, there is room for the whole person here.
Support beyond survival
KJ has a particular interest in supporting veterans and military-connected families. Counseling begins with your own experience, without assuming your needs, military history, or reasons for seeking help.
Trauma-related stress and emotional regulation
Military-to-civilian transitions
Changes in identity, structure, community, or purpose
Grief, loss, and difficult experiences
Relationship stress and family adjustment
Reconnection and communication
Start with what matters now
You can begin with sleep, frustration, relationships, feeling disconnected, or uncertainty about what comes next. Not every veteran has PTSD, and not every transition needs to be understood through a trauma diagnosis.
Creative, relational, and nervous-system-aware
KJ draws on trauma-informed, somatic, experiential, and relational approaches. EMDR may be discussed when clinically appropriate. The work is collaborative, with room for questions and individual preferences.
Military families and relationships
Changes in roles, expectations, separation, and transitions can affect the whole family. Couples or family work may focus on understanding patterns, communicating needs, and building connection.
Can I use VA benefits?
VA-funded Community Care requires separate authorization and provider eligibility. Commercial insurance or Medicaid participation does not establish VA coverage. Confirm the specific arrangement before scheduling treatment.
